Superman – 3rd re-boot

It has been recently reported on G4that Superman maybe in for its third re-boot.  Yes, a third re-boot!!!  Great Caesar’s Ghost!   Per Warner Bros. President Jeff Robinov, Superman Returns “didn’t quite work as a film in the way that we wanted it to. … It didn’t position the character the way he needed to be positioned…Had Superman worked in 2006; we would have had a movie for Christmas of this year or 2009. … But now the plan is just to reintroduce Superman without regard to a Batman and Superman movie at all.”

Wow!!! Does this mean Brian Singer is out as director, does this mean that Superman will be presented in a darker image, or is WB looking to put a realistic spin on an American pop icon like Nolan did with Batman?  I am not sure, but from a fan perspective this does not sound good at all.  The message that I am getting is that either WB has major impediments in bring ionic DC characters to the big screen or they just don’t know type of story they what to delivery for Superman or any other characters outside of Batman.

Either way, they are destroying their fan base.  Can’t WB/DC still a page from the Marvel playbook and make movies that the fans want – set in modern themes, realistic as possible, and a kick ass story to boot?  They seem to get the Batman franchise right, which is quite unbelievable.  I call for independence!!!  A revolution!!!  Not any old revolution, but one for DC Comics.  A revolution that will give DC independence from the evil, greedy cooperate parent (Time-Warner) and follow their own path like Marvel has done.  DC could not do any worst then the position that are currenly in now.
