Wake up everyone! I know that this on-going writer’s strike that has reached 11 weeks has put us all to sleep. Well, I have something that will wake all you BSG fans. Battlestar Galactica is ready to return for its fourth and last season. The season kicks off on April 4th. If you don’t have a calendar out, it is Friday. Yes, Friday, BSG is back to its old hunting grounds for this last season. Yeah!!!!!
From what I have learned, the fourth season has 10 episodes filmed. This BS writer’s strike will determine if the season will be ten episodes or not. To get you ready for the season, the third season on DVD drops on March 25, 2008.
So, who is the last Cylon? Well, if you want help to answer that question that has been on all fans’ mind since the third season finale, don’t look Ronald Moore’s way for answers. In a recent interview in Entertainment Weekly, Moore discusses who the 12th Cylon isn’t. Included in the interview is an interesting photo based on Da Vinci “Last Supper” that includes all the key players in BSG – Col. Tigh, Number Six, Natalie, Anders, Chief Tyrol, and Athena, who are all Cylons, and President Roslin, Lee Adama, Baltar, Starbuck, Helo, and Adama, who are the known humans. What is missing? You guess it…the 12th Cylon.
Moore is using this representation of a classic to lay the ground work for this season. By posing the characters, changing their appearance slightly, Moore is challenging the fan to figure out the clues that could lead to the discovery of the 12th Cylon. Like everything in the BSG universe, nothing is what it seems and the discovery of this burning question will not easily be discovered. I guess we have to wait to April before this journey truly begins.

See you then!
