Detroit – 2007 Most Dangerous City

It is that time of the year again…No, I am not talking turkey day or Black Friday but the much-anticipated crime report from the Federal Bureau of Investigation – “City Crime Rankings: Crime in Metropolitan America.”  So, how safe is your city?Detroit

Well this year’s report is a blast from the past of several years of several years ago.  If you guessed Richmond, VA at the most dangerous city, then you are wrong.  Thank God since I live there!  No, it is the Motor City — Detroit MI.  It has once again regained the crown as the most dangerous city in the United States.  Below is the Top 10:

  1. Detroit, MI
  2. St. Louis, MO
  3. Flint, MI
  4. Oakland, CA
  5. Camden, NJ
  6. Birmingham, AL
  7. North Charleston, SC
  8. Memphis TN
  9. Richmond, CA
  10. Cleveland, OH

Looking at the list, I see a trend here…do not live in CA or the Rust Belt if you value your life or Kevlar is part of your wardrobe!

If you would like to know the safest cities, look no further.  Check out these results:

  1. Mission Viejo, CA
  2. Clarkstown, NY
  3. Brick Township, NJ
  4. Amherst, NY
  5. Sugar Land TX

  1. I live in Detroit and I love this city! And peple do feel safe here. Maybe people should not live in VA, where apparently close-minded opinionated people live.

  2. Thanks Shannon. I glad to hear that Detriot is truely a wonderful city. Hopefully this is only a blip on the radar for Detriot and the city can survive the current economic down turn things around.

  3. ok, I agree that once on a time Detroit was a dangerous city…. but there’s nothing to worry nowadays… Robocop kicked their asses off!!
